Meet the Bakers: Brandon

BRANDON has been working in the bakery at Macy’s since Spring of 1999. He originally baked nights, churning out the muffins, danish, scones, sticky buns and coffee cake that we offer daily.  


Brandon slowly worked his way up to Bakery Manager, but he began baking long before coming to Macy’s. He attributes most of his inspiration to his mother. While most kids were just interested in licking the beaters, Brandon wanted to know what was going on. He helped his mom bake French banana cake, cheesecake, and buckeyes. The popular No Bake Cookies we offer here at Macy’s are available thanks to her original recipe! Brandon continues to share his knowledge and passion with the bakers at Macy’s.  He has also passed on the tradition of baking to his 6-year-old son Owen who is already a talented, enthusiastic and knowledgeable baker himself.  

Brandon believes that the secret ingredient to any recipe is love, and the energy you put into a product truly determines its quality. “You can change someone’s whole day with one bite,” he says.

  

One of the unique things about Macy’s is the ability to be creative. We don’t just offer the same thing in the case day after day. Brandon enjoys getting to know the personality of the different bakers through the food they prepare.His favorite thing to bake (and to eat!) is the classic, old-fashioned chocolate chip cookie.
